Spring Home Maintenance Checklist
Welcome to my personal spring home maintenance checklist. I like to follow this every year to make sure everything in my home is working properly and looking it’s best. Let’s start with the outdoor and work in. Be sure to blow or sweep your property to reveal it’s current state.
Outdoor
Deck & Fence
- Repair or replace latches on your gate
- Secure leaning fencing
- Sand, touch up or paint
Driveway and Patio
- Powerwash or hose down and clean up grass or moss.
- Seal any cracks in driveway.
- Clean and Repair any cracked or splintered wood in deck and restain if necessary for a fresh look.
- Clean & touch up your outdoor furniture and decor
- Bring stored decor out and beautify your yard.
- Freshen up landscaping with mulch or rock and add flowers if desired
- Repair leaking spigots and install hoses.
- Inspect electricity and set up lighting and audio systems if desired.
Garage
- Powerwash floor and add sealant if desired.
- Clean & Organize
- Oil Garage Door
Home Base
- Have chimney, roof and foundation inspected. Replace any damaged shingles
- Remove leaves & debris from downspouts and gutters.
- Replace any damaged siding/facia and clean
- Repaint front door, windows and trim.
- Clean windows
- Clean door screens and install.
- Clean air conditioner and ensure it’s level.

Indoor
Besides your regular spring cleaning, here are some tasks you can take to ensure the indoor of your home is working well and looking fabulous!
Living & Bedroom Area
- Vaccuum & shampoo carpets, upholstery
- Vaccuum mattresses, turn over
- Wash or dry clean curtains.
- Clean mold from windows with white vinegar
- Dust all moulding, clean blinds, fans and hard to reach places
- Reverse ceiling fans counterclockwise to cool your home in the summer months
Kitchen
- Clean garbage disposal
- Clean dishwasher
Bath
- Repair water spigots
- Recaulk your sink & shower/bath
In General
- Clean washing machine and drum
- Check shut off valve, clean and spray lubricant
- Replace batteries in carbon monoxide and detectors on every floor of your home

Place a new doormat at your front and back entrance and call your friends, the warmer season is about to begin!
